Requesting a Weekday Tour

You may request a weekday tour (with at least three business days’ notice), and we will do our best to accommodate you—though we can’t guarantee that a tour guide will be available.

Note: We do not offer tours on Sundays.

To request a tour, leave a message at 507-345-9777 or email us. We will do our best to get back to you within 48 hours.

Weekday tour fees (for both BTS members and non-members):

  • Seniors (age 62+): $13 • Youth (ages 6–12): $10

  • Adults (ages 20–61): $15 • Children age 5 or under: FREE

  • Teens (ages 13–19): $13

Note: There is a $30 minimum for off-season tours regardless of group size.

Volunteering at the Betsy-Tacy Houses

Our biggest need: volunteers to lead tours during the week. Weekday tours are approximately 90 minutes, and training is provided. You may also shadow an experienced volunteer until you feel comfortable soloing.

Volunteers are also needed to lead tours and work in the Shop each Saturday in May–October, 12:45–3:30 p.m. You can volunteer for a monthly shift or just a few times a year, whatever your schedule allows.

Please call (507-345-9777) or email us to learn more.

General Information on Touring the Houses

The Moulin Rouge House

Where to Stay in Deep Valley

Several Mankato lodging establishments have a Betsy-Tacy connection!

The Moulin Rouge House B&B was owned by Betty Hunt’s (Winona Root’s) aunt and uncle. The same owners also operate the Laven House, another beautiful B&B in Betsy’s neighborhood, which was previously owned by BTS president Candy Laven and husband Doug – the twin forces behind much of the renovation at Betsy’s House.

We are excited about our new collaboration with Hotel Alexander in downtown Mankato and Arch + Cable (located in Bridge Plaza)! Executive Director Jennifer Davis-Kay spent a week at Arch + Cable during her most recent visit to Mankato and LOVED it! When you book your stay, be sure to mention that you’re a Betsy-Tacy fan – you might get a discount!
