Young Writer's Conference

The Betsy-Tacy Society has recently formed a partnership with South Central Service Cooperative’s Annual Young Writers Conference (YWC) in an effort to provide students with more opportunities to learn about writing and the creative arts.

The YWC will be held March 18-19, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. The Young Writer's Conference offers students the opportunity to explore a variety of subjects related to writing and creative arts. The YWC utilizes a number of authors, educators, experienced writers, and business leaders as conference facilitators. These local and regional talents inspire youth and encourage them to take their own talents to new levels. Session topics may include, but not be limited to: poetry, fiction writing, character and plot development, illustration/cartooning, writing for the arts, entertainment, travel, and journalism, songwriting, science fiction, humor, screen plays, calligraphy, etc. Having the conference at Bethany Lutheran College allows students to attend individual hands-on sessions on a college campus in a closely supervised environment, without normal daily college activities and students present.
