My sweet husband agreed to a "babymoon" trip to Mankato a few months before the birth of our oldest daughter. I think he blamed the pregnancy hormones when I burst into tears upon seeing Betsy & Tacy's bench but I was so happy to finally see the place I had read (and re-read) about so often over the years. To complete the experience, we also travelled to Madison Lake (Murmuring Lake) for a scenic drive and picnic a la the Ray Family. But we skipped the onion sandwiches!

We now have two daughters (ages 1 & 3) and my set of Betsy-Tacy books is ready and waiting for them.
