If you are visiting Mankato, you will
find that plenty of traces of Deep Valley
still exist there. Both
Betsy's and Tacy's
Hill Street homes can be found at 332 and 333
Center Street. Don't forget to
check our Events Calendar for special
activities and author visits during the year!
While Betsy's house is
still being renovated, Tacy's house is open to the public
on Saturday afternoons from
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. There is no admission
fee on Saturday afternoons but donations are requested. Special hours
are offered by appointment by calling 507-345-9777. Admission for
special visits: Adults - $3.00 Children (ages 5-16) $1.00. Tacy's house
is closed on major holidays or during severe weather.

Deep
Valley Walking Tour (pdf)
A step-by-step walking tour of many of the landmarks and locations depicted in
the Betsy-Tacy series. Please note that we do not currently have the map that
accompanies the tour online. If you would like a copy of the map, send a
legal-size SASE to the Society (address at the bottom of this page) and we will
mail one to you. Please make sure to request the map at least one month before your
visit so we make sure to get it to you in time!
Your visit to Mankato will be greatly
enhanced by purchasing a copy of Julie A. Schrader's Maud
Hart Lovelace's Deep Valley, a guidebook of Mankato Places in the Betsy-Tacy
series. The book can also be purchased at the Betsy-Tacy Society Shop if
you tour the houses.
Sharla Whalen's Betsy-Tacy Companion is the
essential compendium of all things related to the Betsy-Tacy series. It's
available via our online shoppe.
